Joining the Cambridge Skating Club

The club currently has approximately 350 memberships (family, couple, individual, and young adult). This number is based on the small size of our clubhouse and the limits of the ice at Willard Street.

Each fall, the club seeks to admit as many new members as possible. The number of openings depends on the number of existing members who do not re-enroll at the end of the previous season.

Applicants for membership must be Cambridge residents. (Although new members must be Cambridge residents, current members are welcome to re-enroll even if they move outside the city.) To apply for a membership, please download the attached form [PDF]. The application form must be accompanied by a personal statement as to why you are interested in joining the club plus a proposing letter from a current member. A seconding letter from a current member may also be included, but is not required. Sending the proposing and seconding letters with your own material facilitates the application process. Applicants who do not know a current member should contact the Membership Committee for advice.

Applications are accepted year-round, and the club maintains a waitlist. Once the Membership Committee receives a completed application, the committee chair will ask you to confirm whether you would like to be placed on the wait list. Your position on the wait list is determined by the date on which your reply is received.

Dues for the 2021-2022 season are $480 for a family, $405 for an adult couple, $315 for an individual, and $210 for a young adult. There is no initiation fee; however, the club is a volunteer-run organization that depends heavily on members who lend their time to events and activities.

If you wish to contact the membership committee, have questions about your application, or if you would like to check your status on the wait list, please email the club at cambridgeskatingclub@comcast.net.
